About that, there will be the source renaming for the library as for
the past. Something that I will miss is the BigTIFF support. Gdal 1.5.0
includes its own copy of libtiff (with beta support for bigtiff),
but it uses the same namespace of libtiff4, so its use would cause
a name clash for apps which use both gdal and libtiff.
I'm afraid we will have to wait for libtiff5 in sid and also apps moving
to the new ABI/API, something that will not happen anytime soon.
