subject list for Fosdem embedded meeting
Hello all,
To make sure we do not forget any subjects we should keep in mind to develop the
mini-debian approach, which will be discussed at Fosdem I made up a list.This
way everybody can come prepared If there is one missing, or you want to add some
new ones please notify me.
- uwoody (from Erik Andersen http://people.debian.org/~andersee/uwoody/)
- Stag framework (by myself http://www.mind.be/stag)
- 5lb bag (from Karl Bongers http://www.turbobit.com/abox.html)
- a new debian/rules file target for emdebian
- a seperate new emdebian/rules file (or something similar)
- the use of scratchbox (and qemu http://scratchbox.org/ and
http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/)
- library usage (uclibc standard, support for more?)
- native and/or cross-compiling support
- ptxdist (can we re-use some of the approaches/experience found there
http://ptxdist.sf.net)
- udeb (if some-one knows more about it, maybe we should contact a debian
developer for that)
- installation stages and init (standard linux or more busybox oriented?)
Of course not everything has to be setteled there. We should lay the foundations
so we can start working in one direction and discuss unsettled issues later.
For everybody that will not be able to attend Fosdem I will make sure that there
will be a short summary of the discussion results. (web-site and/or mailing list)
