I would indeed make good sense. Especially in cases like yours with a
known amount of machines already fully registered by MAC address.
Personally, I work with thin clients in mixed neetworks, and aim at
knowing the least possible about the workstations on the network.
So I need dynamic allocation of bandwidth, not fixed. And have been
staring only in that direction (with the wrr package in Debian for ages
without succeeding with setting it up myself).
But yes, I agree with you that QoS would make sense to dig into!
