It is a serious issue, certainly, but activism isn't the purpose of this
mailing list as I understand it. This is a social list for
Debian-related people located in or visiting NYC to arrange to get
together. I very much approve of your sentiments about NYC and medical
records, or I would if appropriate free medical software existed, but
that sentiment is better directed to other more general-purpose lists.

Also, many of your posts to this list are just reposts of other
announcement lists for NYLUG, the NYC Broadband Committee, and other
things. Those are all very worthy endeavors, and I hope to make it to an
NYLUG meeting at some point, but those of us who want to receive those
mails can subscribe to those announcement lists directly; debian-nyc is
not supposed to be an aggregator for other announcement lists, nor even
an announcement list itself for anything other than social
get-togethers.
