Because she's MIA? I have this impression that the debian-doc list
was a quite calm one before you, Osamu, subscribed to it =D. Good
that it happened.

uh... I didn't know about this one, and I guess most of the documentation
package maintainers didn't know either... there is no /usr/share/doc/manuals
directory in my system and I have lots of debian-specific documentation
installed... the currently unnoficial policy seems to be putting the docs
on /usr/share/doc/package-name/... like developer's reference's way:

[~]
[kov]@[couve] $ ls /usr/share/doc/developers-reference/
changelog.Debian.gz developers-reference.html/
changelog.gz developers-reference.ja.html/
common.ent.gz developers-reference.ja.sgml.gz
copyright developers-reference.ja.txt.gz
developers-reference.fr.html/ developers-reference.pdf
developers-reference.fr.pdf developers-reference.sgml.gz
developers-reference.fr.sgml.gz developers-reference.txt.gz
developers-reference.fr.txt.gz version.ent

or apt-howto's way:

[~]
[kov]@[couve] $ ls /usr/share/doc/apt-ho
apt-howto apt-howto-es apt-howto-ko apt-howto-pt-br
apt-howto-en apt-howto-it apt-howto-pl apt-howto-ru
[~]
[kov]@[couve] $ ls /usr/share/doc/apt-howto/pt_BR/
apt-howto-pt_BR.html/ apt-howto-pt_BR.sgml.gz
apt-howto-pt_BR.ps.gz apt-howto-pt_BR.txt.gz

I would like to see different directories for different translations...
that makes a more well-organized system, IMO but I like everything
else
