Maybe good time to discuss.

?? This is transition package, isn't it? localepurge?
Still ...
This is just a simple script to recover disk space wasted for unneeded
locale files and localized man pages. It will automatically be invoked upon
completion of any apt installation run.

$ ls
CVS
Makefile
apt-howto-en.sgml
apt-howto-es.sgml
apt-howto-it.sgml
apt-howto-ja.sgml
apt-howto-ko.sgml
apt-howto-pl.sgml
apt-howto-pt_BR.sgml
apt-howto-ru.sgml
Hyphen is unusual.
apt-howto.en.sgml
apt-howto.es.sgml
apt-howto.it.sgml
apt-howto.ja.sgml
apt-howto.ko.sgml
apt-howto.pl.sgml
apt-howto.pt_BR.sgml
apt-howto.ru.sgml
This is better. Also, convention on pt_BR is strange. We do not say
en_US while we can say en_GB.
Compounding problem is LC_ALL=fr will not switch "date" to produce French
date. It has to be LC_ALL=fr_FR. (Any good command for this?? Get
date from system or convert date from C locale to something else.)

Headache ....

Let me comment on different thread. :)
