I don't really see that there *only* being 6 manuals is such a bad
deal.  I mean, what happens now is that the poor archive maintainers
or web folks have to do stuff *by hand*.

I suggest we setup a directory in a new location not currently
occupied, and as we move documents over there, so they go, and the old
"by hand" entries are removed.  So even if it takes 3 years until we
get a good set of stuff in there, at least we're slowing moving stuff
over and all that.

So what?  It's still worthwhile (see above).

Furthermore, I expect to be adding translations to
developers-reference soon in the same CVS area.  So I'm going to
*have* to use this method.  If you don't work it out for the whole DDP
I'm going to have to update it by hand (like the Install Manual) and
do all this wasted work.

Huh?  I don't understand this...

As I said above, we should just gradually move documents over into a
new web dir area (James can help us pick a name).  And as we do this,
we adjust the links from www.debian.org/devel/index.html (well,
actually, cvs:webml/english/devel/index.wml).
