pkern@franck ~/linux-3.2.32-1/debian % rgrep 'INITRD' .

And stable:

pkern@franck ~/linux-2.6-2.6.32-46/debian % rgrep 'INITRD' .

It's another matter if the architectures support booting initrds of the
size Debian creates or initrds at all. But all kernels support it.
