It's reasonable to request. Indeed, I either do it intentionally, or
I do it because I couldn't find the original thread, or because it
would be too much trouble in the particular case to maintain the
thread. Sometimes it's just an accident.
In this case, I did it intentionally, because the message gave
information which might be useful to people outside this context, and
those who may have skipped the thread would otherwise miss it.

But it's not reasonable to demand or berate me. There is no
requirement that threads not be broken, and it would be foolish to
create one.
I'm afraid occasional thread-breaking is just something you'll have to
put up with, because it's unlikely to go away.
