Well, please don't see my answers as the solemn truth. They're just my
current opinion, and may change during discussion.

Of course, if doing it in a nice way, getting information out from
people via e.g. IRC and publishing it afterwards is a good thing. For
example, "Status of the upload-Queues" -
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2004/02/msg00012.html
came to live this way. I had several comments from James (both via IRC
and mail), and also some comments by Tollef Fog Heen, Phil Hands,
Roman Hodek and others.

Distributing information is, like everything else, a voluntarily task
in Debian. So, if people help that this happens, I welcome it (as I
welcome if someone is fixing bugs, or working behind the scenes). A
good idea could be a column in the DWN like "a look behind the
scenes", and describe every week something interessting (new archive
structur, status of amd64, tasks of ftp-masters, ...), but of course -
how it is done is as always the decision of the person doing it,
unless something gets broken.

Cheers,
Andi
