Re: Accepted aptitude 0.2.13-2.2 (i386 source)

Hi mdz,

I know I had a similar problem before, but still could not find the
root of the problem, nor a solution.

Arch: i386, just apt-get update with this sources.list entry:
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian ../project/experimental main contrib non-free
Result:
Get:2 http://ftp.debian.org ../project/experimental Release [21.6kB]
Get:3 http://ftp.debian.org ../project/experimental/contrib Packages [1622B]
Get:4 http://ftp.debian.org ../project/experimental/non-free Packages [20B]

Version: 0.2.13-2
# apt-get -t experimental install aptitude

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
aptitude: Depends: libapt-pkg-libc6.3-5-3.4 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
Also, specify the exact version:
# apt-get -t experimental install aptitude=0.2.13-2.2
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Version '0.2.13-2.2' for 'aptitude' was not found

 The funny thing is that:
1. I do not use any proxy for apt, still I can not see this new version,
2. I do use Squid for _browser access_ (version 2.5.STABLE4), and I
_can_ see the new aptitude version at:
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/aptitude/

# dpkg -l apt
ii apt 0.6.15 Advanced front-end for dpkg

Do you (or anyone) have any idea what's going on?

Thanks,
GCS
