One more voice, mine: Drop the upstream author from the
new maintainer queue. Behaviour like this absolutely disqualifies
Rüdiger from being trusted, ever.

The package? As apparently the combination upstream+package+DD is not
a good one, let somebody else have a go at packaging it, if the software
is any good. But whoever takes anything from Rüdiger should go over
the code with a toothpick before uploading.
