Bug#174308: star should become standard tar

On 2002-12-27 at 15:48 +0100 Eduard Bloch sent off:
Linux kernel (stable) does not support ACLs. There are different ACL
implementations. Which one is supported by star? Did you actually test
this feature?

yes it did test it and will use in on a productive machine. The ACL implementation of Andreas Grünbacher is the one which is now in the 2.5 kernel and which is already on SuSE 8.1's kernel. The decision which implementation will be the one is already made and ACLs with samba are already widly used. GNU tar will probably never get ACL support because it's too broken - just to get back to the main topic ;)
