yes it did test it and will use in on a productive machine. The ACL implementation of Andreas Grünbacher is the one which is now in the 2.5 kernel and which is already on SuSE 8.1's kernel. The decision which implementation will be the one is already made and ACLs with samba are already widly used. GNU tar will probably never get ACL support because it's too broken - just to get back to the main topic ;)
