Also, it cannot recover as well from things like postrm scripts that forget to unregister a file from alternatives, or forget to put back diversions, postrm's that forget to remove dedicated users, and stuff like that. A package that collected code to fix up after broken postrm's could deal with not only cruft, but anything else a postrm could forget to do, so it's more general. -- see shy jo
