standardizing debian/copyright might be a good idea?
Perhaps a recommendation in Policy for a list of field names and the
information contained in them?
Right now, 6.6 defines what information must be included in
debian/copyright, but doesn't define a best-practice for the actual
formatting of debian/copyright, which would be usefull. [I'm not
suggesting that the format be made binding (at least, not yet), but a
list of fields which would in the future be recognized by
packages.debian.org for display would (probably) be nice.]
Currently, I've been known to use the following fields (and I suppose
others who I "stole" from do also):
