Not sure if it has been discused before|recently, but perhaps standardizing debian/copyright might be a good idea? Perhaps a recommendation in Policy for a list of field names and the information contained in them? Right now, 6.6 defines what information must be included in debian/copyright, but doesn't define a best-practice for the actual formatting of debian/copyright, which would be usefull. [I'm not suggesting that the format be made binding (at least, not yet), but a list of fields which would in the future be recognized by packages.debian.org for display would (probably) be nice.] Currently, I've been known to use the following fields (and I suppose others who I "stole" from do also): Author: T.M.
