xmllint --valid --noout file.omf

seems to do the trick, although it is failing all the time for me
because of:

libgda-C.omf:2: validity error: Validation failed: no DTD found !
<omf>

the DTD seems to be in /usr/share/xml/scrollkeeper/dtds/, but it seems
to not find them at all. Any idea what I am missing?

cheers
