I thought of that, but considered that since a lot of open source
projects use sites like <packagename>.org, it might be stepping on the
debconf (software, not event) developer's toes.

Of course, the debconf package is intrinsically linked to Debian, it's
not a general Linux package, so it's not likely that there will be a
site devoted to it outside of d.o. But I wanted to leave the domain
available just in case.

To elaborate a little on what I intend to do with this, I was thinking
of setting up a site that provides a calendar/details of past and future
events, links to event-specific sites or hosting of event sub-sites,
somewhere for attendees to post photos and commentary of events, etc.
