I'm glad to see you equate yourself with "the rest of the world". Users
of freshmeat find "appindex" useful (I guess, I don't). Users of thousands
of others specialty web sites find thousands of others specialty clients
useful. And, users of some french site seem to find a wmdockapp useful -
at least two of them. What makes the software you use important enough
to be in Debian?

He thinks it will be useful to be there. Its chief use is amusement, true.
I see nothing wrong with programs meant to amuse (f-b, moon-buggy, fortune).
If this program brings joy to its users, and the developer dedicated the time
to develop it, and the packager developed the time to package it, what makes
their amusement less important?

I don't usually quote signatures in my reply, but this was somehow
appropriate.
