I have to correct this -- DebianPlanet is run by Debian developers :)

I think it's good that DP exists like this "lobby", as a portal with
comments it lets users blow steam about issues, lets developers see a bit
more about how the community "breathes", and lets outsiders see things
happen in Debian in a way that is a bit more clued in than at a random news
site.
