Well, if you only get spurious segfaults in the Hurd and not in Linux, then
it sounds more like a Hurd problem after all ;)

The problem lies within vmware, and I don't know if anybody tried L4 with
vmware.  Plex86 is not really usable so far (and doesn't boot gnumach at
all).  People have reported that the Hurd runs inside Bochs, but as a full
emulator, Bochs is quite slow of course.
