I've fixed QA bugs more recently than that, some release-critical.

I mailed the putative maintainer about those some days back, and
suggested it might be a good idea to hurry along an upload.

I believe clisp is being taken over by someone competent, although I
haven't checked its listing in the WNPP recently.

Most of them could really do with a maintainer to sort them out
properly.

The QA group "maintains" orphaned packages. We take care of their worst
problems as time permits (I'd guess most of the QA group are more
interested in release-critical things right now), but we aren't experts
on all the random packages that people see fit to orphan and can't be
expected to fix all their random bugs. Real maintainers will always do a
better job.

If you want us to do more, you would be better off offering help, and
preferably take over or find people to take over some of the long list
of orphaned packages currently in our hands. Many of the open important
ones, in particular, are quite difficult to solve and could do with
additional diagnosis and/or patches.
