I don't have numbers, but I just say what I see. Most debian developers want to fix bugs for the ports. A lot of them just think it's cool and say they are certainly interested. Others even say that they switch when the things they want are there. The only number I have is that the debian-hurd mailinglist has more subscribers than one of the others port lists.
