That is correct. It is also why I didn't propose any way to make fixing
bugs faster.

I proposed a way of avoiding the situation in the first place.

For the record - I don't think the current RM is doing a bad job. In fact,
I think he's doing an excellent job - of implementing the policy as it is
laid out, today.

Perhaps debian-policy would have been a more appropriate list. However, it
seemed like developers would be one of the main groups affected by it, and
most of the discussion on the topic has taken place here, so I started here
for now.

Understand that some of us consider the very *idea* of *needing* 7 bug
squashing parties to indicate that something is very broken about how this
is done today. As I noted in private email earlier... having even one of
these demonstrates that we have a problem, because they are a desperate
reaction to a situation that should never be allowed to arise in the first
place.
