Either that, or it shouldnt change anything if there is no DEBCONF
section instead of changing everything.  It does make a backup, but its
not entirely obvious as it munges the date:

-rw-r--r--    1 root     root         2658 Dec 10 12:38 XF86Config-4
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root         2742 Aug 30 12:31 XF86Config-4.dexconf-backup

I made a backup manually prior to the upgrade: 

$ diff XF86Config-4.dexconf-backup /root/XF86Config-4
(the files are the same)
