Fine, then there remains that console-tools thing. One has to manually
reinstall both console-tools and console-data to get back to a working
nls kb.

Sorry, i can't provide better info - was in the middle of a course. But
4 out of 9 SUSE users switched to Debian immediately after installing
and upgrading some boxen before there eyes via http and a fairly quick
DSL line while YAST was still starting up ;-)
After talking about Debian now & than during the course, i was very
pleased to be able to demonstrate a smooth install using potato boot
'floppies' off the website and (hand editing sources.list) immediate
upgrade to woody.
Although i used every opportunity to talk about Free Software and Open
Source Community that installation was simply more impressing ... ;-)

Thanks to all, greetings, martin
