They all use ISO-8859-1 (or ISO-8859-15, no difference). Well, they
won't change their names. So Debian must increase its support of UTF-8.

By the way, I can't read Japanese (nor Chinese, or Russian), but I find
some beauty to non-latin characters. I would love to be able to read
some Kanji as a maintainer name. (Well, and if there was some library
intelligent enough to make a translation in IPA/Latin characters it
would be all the best).

Debian must strive for i18n support. Of course, you are aware of it :)
