  Maybe I misread the changelog; I saw this:

glut (3.7-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * conflicts with glut-data (< 3.7-2). Closes: Bug#61366
  * explicitly linked against libGLU, libGL, libX11, libXmu, libXt, libXi, libm

  Like I said (or didn't?), I'm not sure that this has any direct bearing
on the situation, but it's the only thing I could find to explain it.
