Well, that is the answer that has allwaysbeen given for _any_
debian release. I think I prefer this to M$'s marketing department
touting a product befire the code is written, really.

Heh. You either have not been working for Debian, or have been
unaware that we don't have release goals or schedules. It is a zen
thing. Debian releases when it is time.
Additionally, we do have goals, we just don't have release
goals. Having hard deadlines with a volunteer project is impractical;
having release goals may unreasonably delay a release; having a hard
deaqdline would put pressure on us to release a prodct that is not
ready because of the gbad PR due to missed deadlines.
However, if you wish, I hereby proclaim that Debian shall
release woody before December 31, 2099, or when it is ready,
whichever comes first.
