Re: libtool and sonames
A few comments regarding elastiC itself (with the author in CC to
correct me if I'm mistaken).
elastiC is a programming language (it's really cool - see
http://www.elasticworld.org) which can be used as an embedded/extended
ala Tcl. For this reason, it makes sense to make it available as a
shared lib, so that all the applications (ok, there aren't any now,
but in the future there may be) share the same lib.
So, the end result *is* to have elastic, elastic-dev, elastic-doc, and
so on, like Tcl or Python.
