Don't forget: ALSA people changed the API in 0.5.x and there is no
backwards compability AFAIK. So you have to adapt _all_ packages
that haveno support for ALSA-0.5.x. IMHO it was a very bad solution to
make packages depending on ALSA, since it is and will stay in
development. Almost all programs can work with OSS and ALSA has working
OSS-emulation, so ALSA-dependencies had to be avoided at all. Now, it's
too late to make decisions.
