I really glad to have heard of your concrete opinion and it shows us
a possible way for the future Debian, I think. I really nodded your
opinion (Yes, It's true, not irony).
However, Debian is for whom?
The DFSG says that:
---------
4.Our Priorities are Our Users and Free Software
We will be guided by the needs of our users and the free-software
community. We will place their interests first in our
priorities. We will support the needs of our users for operation
in many different kinds of computing environment.
---------
I don't think you ignore the Mule2 user in Japan, I think you are
thinking about the future Debian and it's possible and reasonable way
to choose.
But I think there's another way to achieve our goal. Supporting
Mule2 for our user is not so bad idea, don't it? Mule2 is wide-spread
free software in Japan, and many user really want it to Debian. Yes,
for thinking about the future Debian, to reduce the forking software
is really important matter, and on the other hand, to support the
present user is important thing to our goal too.
Could you give me your opinion?
Hoping Happy Debian GNU/Linux life,
K.S.Yoshio
