Theoretically, Debian could use Apache's content negotiation module
to prefer sending users PNGs, falling back to JPEGs (or GIFs) as
necessary.  Realistically, not all browsers send sensible Accept
headers, making content negotiation much less useful then it should
be.

Also, many PNG-handling browsers and plug-ins don't handle
transparency correctly, which could be an issue for the logos. (Do the
logos use transparency?)
