I have just noticed that this will only solve part of the problem.

In addition to this, additional (also empty and dummy) packages should be
created with the old names (xfntbase, xfnt75, etc.) which depend on the
new ones.

I think there is a complete list of them in the mail from
Robert Woodcock, "Release notes for slink".

Please do not forget these packages, since they will not be upgraded by
default otherwise.
