Aho! and people thought the "reply-to" debate was bad!  Wait till they
see an honest-to-goodness language war:->

I have played with Python a bit as of late, and really like it a lot.
Yes, the syntax thing is a bit funky, but we are all adults (more or
less:-), so I regard it as one of those things to 'just deal with'.
It's text processing/regexp stuff isn't quite up to Perl, and it's C
api doesnt strike me as being quite as nice as the Tcl one (although I
don't know it as well).  But overall it just seems really nicely done,
and that it might scale better for big projects (perl tends to start
feeling really bloated and ugly).  Guile is also improving quickly,
for those that like that sort of thing but is still behind the Big 3.

At home I've got the URL of an archived flame war about this stuff,
with all the guys like Guido, Tchrist, RMS, etc...

If this is still going when I get home, I'll post it.
