No. What I have in mind is:

1. We modify the man browser in slink so that it understands both
/usr/share/man and /usr/man (same for info). This way people installing
slink will be able to install packages from the distribution after slink
(maybe Debian 2.2, or 3.0 because of the FHS thing) without problems.

2. As soon as slink is *frozen* (not when slink was released, or we would
lose a lot of time!), FHS-compliant packages are allowed in the
new unstable, and we make policy that the distribution after slink
will be FHS-compliant. I don't think it would be wise to switch to FHS
now, because we should have used all the time hamm was frozen to prepare
the switch and we have not done that. Better to do it right.

This way, when slink was stable, people using slink will be able to use
packages from unstable without any problems.

And we will not have to write any "paranoid" scripts :-)
