The problem appears only if you want to use GPL'ed program with non-free
components, as you well know.

If you want to use non-free components, don't use the GPL. There is no
problem.

I'll not argue with you, but let me tell you that I don't support your
opinion that the GPL is too restrictive. It is the authors decision to
choose a good license. An author who wants to cooperate closely with
non-free software is just not well advised to choose the GPL. Point.
