But hamm is in deep-freeze, and while libc4 can be built with earlier
distributions it's going to be a lot of work to build it in hamm.

So stuffing libc4 into contrib and including documentation on what you'd
have to do (drop back to older debian system) to build the binaries
looks like the only reasonable option.
