Because I wanted to show you how things were setup in the old libc5.
You claimed it did work for libc5, so I looked at  the difference
between libc5 and libc6 headers.  (although there shouldn't be muchdifference
in the eventually-kernel-supplied-/usr/include/{asm,sys,linux} headers)

If you want to compile a libc5 version, yes, but I don't think you
want to do that.
