Debian folks should note that there is an accidental binary
incompatibility between the gcc and egcs libstdc++ that will be fixed as
part of egcs-1.0.2. This means that Debian should probably wait until
egcs-1.0.2 (coming very soon) before distributing binaries that
dynamically link against the egcs libstdc++.so shared library (unless you
mark said binaries as "unstable", because they will be).

After this is done, gcc-2.8.0 and egcs-2.8.1 will have link-compatible
libstdc++ libraries, so C++ programs built by either compiler will work
with the shared library from the other compiler.
