I'm reworking the > packaging for jdk1.0 somewhat also. I've started working on BISS AWT some days ago, see announcement from 1997/10/26 in this mailing list. But I can't compile it using JDK 1.0.2 (can't find java.lang.System 8-(( ). Using JDK 1.1.3 seems to work, but some interfaces changed -> I must add some stubs, to get a clean compile. Here's an example of the errors I get: List.java:32: class biss.awt.List must be declared abstract. It does not define void handleEvent(java.awt.AWTEvent) from interface java.awt.peer.ComponentPeer. Today BISS AWT itself must stay in non-free. I hope that the licence problems can be sorted out (I've send mail to BISS yesterday). After the compilation has finished, I'll upload it to http://www.oche.de/~leutloff/debian/packages/ and to master. After that we can improve the package together, is this okay?? I really hope, that we get a free Java development environment really soon.
