the problem disappeared after some while. the paradox was, everything
worked, when i invoked the filter manual (/usr/sbin/ljet4l-filter < file
> out) and then printed the result (lpr out).
changeing version numbers (back to old, then new versions etc.) all
didn't help, and then the problem disappeared. now everything is fine.
i believe, the trouble came with a mixed libc5/libc6 system.
no bug was reported (had no time to look closer at it, and a bug report
doesnt help much if it cannot be reproduced).
