Re: Intention to re-write /usr/sbin/install-info
Hi,
Making a dummy install-info script would not allow people to
use the GNU packages if their path variable was set incorrectly. I
strongly object to two programs with the same name having different
behaviour on the system. By all means phase in the use of
dinstall-info, and have it disappear at some point in the future (any
packages not converted will break at that point, so be it).
This may well make Debian un-upgradeable (bad idea), but it is
better than the kludge entioned before, where the system behaviour is
unpredictable).
