i added :

char (doubletalk=dtlk) doubletalk (sound) : 0  /* doubletalk */

the permissions are set in makedev.cfg :
class audio:    root    audio   0660

so your device will be c ??,0 owner root, group audio, permission 660

ok ?

i added to the documentation :
<tag/doubletalk/device for the doubletalk pc soundcard. 1 device doubletalk

(a better description would be nice... ?)

please email :
LINUX ALLOCATED DEVICES
Maintained by H. Peter Anvin <hpa@zytor.com>

so you can register your device.
(he can also give you a device number as far as i know).

regards, andreas
