Bug#4923: debian-devel-digest Digest V96 #20



This will only be set if you use NIS!  So unless you use NIS and have
set domainname using domainname, it will not be set.  NIS works for me,
so there is no bug. (It wouldn't work if utsname.domainname was not set.)

You made the common mistake to confuse the NIS domain with DNS.  The DNS
domainname is stored in /etc/resolv.conf and will be reread every time.
utsname.domainname stores the NIS domain.
