Re: Upcoming Debian Releases
For 1.2 add the following:
* Move all X11 games out of /usr/X11R6/bin into /usr/games or
/usr/X11R6/games (also the latter would possibly violate the FHS). [1]
For 1.3 add the following:
* Fix all X11 packages to recognize the standard toolkit options like
'-geometry'.
* Fix all X11 packages with sound support to use NAS instead of accessing
the sound hardware directly.
* Add missing commands required by XPG (eg. dircmp, cxref, ...)
* Fix libc to be ANSI and POSIX compliant (especially the name space pollution
is hurting developers!)
[1] I think providing /usr/X11R6/games and /usr/X11R6/sbin would make sense
because commands running only under X11 do not belong in either /usr/games
or /usr/sbin and most certainly they should not be put in /usr/X11R6/bin
or they would have been installed in /usr/bin in the first place.
