I'm now running libc5.2.18-6, and emacs has no problems. Try whatever
it is you do to get emacs to core dump, but it's perfectly happy with
me; I've even read my email in 6x13.

Ah - I'd rather not upgrade ncurses right now; my entire system might
fall over, and I don't want to nurse it back to health right at this
moment.
