It did this (I think) from when I installed thay old 1.3.64 debian image
package, I suppose it was because I actually downgraded and not upgraded
thinking that the stuff in the base dir was actually newer than the stuff on
the base floppies (which obiovusly wasnt).

Oh by the way, Andrew Howell, if you're reading this, take me off your mailing
