How about something like:

"If you can't find any debian-specific documentation, you may find
what you're looking for in other areas, for example X documentation or
linux documentation.  If you can't find it there you may find what
you're looking for in <a href="http://...";>unix documentation</a>.  If
you would like to help make the documentation more accessible, please
<a href="mailto:...";>let us know</a>."
