That's true, they won't auto-migrate, but if they interact with any other
packages they can cause problems (e.g. if they use a library that needs
to be part of a transition). The standing request to everyone is to not
upload anything to sid that is not intended for wheezy until the freeze
is over.

Nothing technical prevents you from doing so,
