Orphaned games
Hi,
There are currently 16 orphaned games, see list below. Maybe somebody would
be interested in adopt any of them inside the games team. In the case of the
ITAed packages, maybe invite the maintainer to join the team.
And there are three packages that seems good candidates for removal.

Description: 3D chess for X11
3 dimensional Chess game for X11R6. There are three boards, stacked
vertically; 96 pieces of which most are the traditional chess pieces with
just a couple of additions; 26 possible directions in which to move. The
AI isn't wonderful, but provides a challenging enough game to all but the
most highly skilled players.

Package: adonthell (and adonthell-data)
Description: A 2D graphical roleplaying game
A 2D graphical RPG game inspired by good old console RPGs like the
ones on the SNES.

This package contains the Adonthell engine. You'll also need a game
to be able to play. For this release, the official game is Waste's
Edge, found in the package adonthell-data.

Description: IDE for creating early Sierra style AGI games
AGI (Adventure Game Interpreter) is the adventure game engine used by
Sierra On-Line(tm) to create some of their early games. QT AGI Studio
is a program which allows you to view, create and edit AGI games.

Package: bombermaze
Description: A bomberman clone for GNOME, for 2-4 players
It is a multiplayer action game in which players run around in
a square-grid maze while dropping bombs and collecting power-ups.
The bombs explode after a short time delay, taking out any nearby
bricks and players. For maximum effect, bombs can be arranged so as
to cause a chain reaction of explosions. The last player left is
the winner.

Package: conquest
Description: a real-time, multi-player space warfare game (curses client)
Conquest is a predecessor of netrek.

The object of the game is twofold. The short-range goal
is to accumulate "kills" by shooting down enemy players.
You get one kill point for each enemy ship shot down,
plus some extra if the enemy had kills too. The major
weapon used to shoot down ships is the photon torpedo.

The long-range goal is to conquer the universe for your
team by taking every planet. You take planets by killing
off the enemy's armies via bombardment, and then beaming
your team's armies down. When all the planets have been
taken, the game ends, a new game begins, and the player
who actually took the last planet gets his/her name up
in lights.

Description: A port of NetHack using SDL
Falcon's Eye is a mouse-driven interface for NetHack that enhances the visuals,
audio and accessibility of the game, yet retains all the original gameplay and
game features.

NetHack is a single player dungeon exploration game that runs on a wide variety
of computer systems, with a variety of graphical and text interfaces all using
the same game engine. Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons-inspired games, the
emphasis in NetHack is on discovering the detail of the dungeon and not simply
killing everything in sight - in fact, killing everything in sight is a good
way to die quickly. Each game presents a different landscape - the random
number generator provides an essentially unlimited number of variations of the
dungeon and its denizens to be discovered by the player in one of a number of
characters: you can pick your race, your role, and your gender.

Package: lxdoom
Description: Unix port of boom, an enhanced version of DOOM
Doom is a 3d shoot'em'up game, written by id Software, first released in
1993.

LxDoom is a version of Doom, designed to run on Unix either under XFree86 or
using SVGALib.

LxDoom is based on Boom, a freely available port of Doom for DOS, written by
TeamTNT (http://www.teamtnt.com/).

This package includes only the network game server and the required game
wad file (boomlump.wad). To actually play lxdoom, you require lxdoom-x11
or lxdoom-svga, depending on whether you're going to play lxdoom on the
console or X. Packages which may also enhance your gameplay are
lxdoom-sndserv and lxmusserv, which are the sound server and music server
packages, respectively.

Description: game interpreter for Sierra Online (tm) AGI games
AGI, or the Adventure Game Interpreter, was developed and used by Sierra
Online for their games, most notably the famous "Quest-series" in the late
1980's. Nagi is an open source interpreter for playing AGI games.

Nagi supports a wide range of old Sierra games (you need the original
files) as well as new AGI resources developed with tools like the
QT AGI Studio.

Package: pydance
Description: dancing simulation game similar to the kind in arcades
pydance is a dancing simulator, in which you must step on particular arrows
on the floor in time with music playing in the background. pydance supports
multiple difficulty levels for each song, background images and movies,
lyrics, freeze arrows, BPM changes and stops, and many common modifiers like
2x, drop, stealth, and so on.

pydance is interoperable with other dancing games, and can play the
popular DWI, SM, and KSF formats. It is capable of playing games similar
to Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up, ParaParaParadise, Dance ManiaX,
and Technomotion. It also implements several unique modes. You can also
make your own steps for songs in the .dance format.

Package: uligo
Description: tsumego (go problems) practice tool
To get stronger at the game of go, it is essential to develop one's
reading ability. That is why professionals recommend study of life and
death or tesuji (local offensive positions) problems. uliGo is a program
that allows you to do that: the computer displays a problem, and asks for
the answer. You enter the first move, the computer responds, and so on
until you reach the final solution or enter a wrong move.

uliGo includes a stop clock, support for multiple solution paths, and
random color selection and board rotation (to avoid rote memorization).
It uses the standard SGF format for its problems, so you can easily
create your own using any SGF editor (such as CGoban).

Package: xbattle
Description: Concurrent multi-player battle strategy game
xbattle is a concurrent multi-player game which combines elements of
strategy with arcade-like action to capture a wide range of military
scenarios. Opponents play from separate displays, with commands being
executed concurrently -- the players do not take "turns", but rather they
all issue their commands simultaneously. There can be any number of
players, with each player assigned to a specific team, indicated by marker
colors. The game board is a matrix of cells (square, hexes, etc.) that can
be occupied by colored troops, with the goal of the game being to eliminate
the enemy from the board by attacking cells occupied by enemy troops. A
wide variety of command line options (and previously configured game files)
provide an abundance of different scenarios and gaming environments.
